The Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency (AEOA) intends to apply for the Minnesota Department of Transportation’s (MNDOT) Greater Minnesota Regional Transportation Coordinating Councils Phase 1 Organizational Planning Grant.
MNDOT is seeking applicants to develop a structure for Regional Transportation Coordinating Councils (RTCC) to coordinate transportation services between the wide range of organizations engaging with transportation for Minnesota citizens. MN DOT explains RTCC at their website http://www.dot.state.mn.us/transit/grants/RTCC/index.html. They state, “Coordination between transportation providers, service agents, and the private sector is a goal to fill transportation gaps, streamline access to transportation and provide individuals more options of where and when to travel.”
During the planning phase, AEOA will be contracting with the Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) to engage stakeholders and develop structure for a RTCC serving the eight counties of Northeast Minnesota: Aitkin, Carlton, Cook, Itasca, Koochiching, Lake, Pine, and St. Louis. We are seeking your partnership in the planning process and commitment to engage with the work of the RTCC, once established.
Please indicate your interest in participation or support by completing the RTCC survey at: http://tiny.cc/f8xhqy by February 1, 2018. In addition, we will be hosting a stakeholder conversation on Friday, February 16, from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. The meeting will be held at AEOA’s main office at 702 3rd Avenue South, Virginia, Minnesota. An online webinar link will also be shared with stakeholders in case you prefer to attend electronically.
Further information on AEOA’s intent can be accessed at: http://www.aeoa.org/RTCC
Any questions related to the application or planning process can be directed to RTCC.Planning@aeoa.org.
