About
Arrowhead Transit has been serving the Arrowhead Region since 1974. Originally created to provide low-cost transportation for the poor, disabled and the elderly, today with nearly 70 routes in and around Northeastern Minnesota we are the largest public rural transportation system in Minnesota – and in the United States.
We serve travelers and commuters alike with scheduled service, Dial-A-Ride, and our Rural Rides program. Our specially-trained drivers can take you to work in Grand Rapids or the doctor’s office in Hibbing. We can take you to a shopping trip Duluth or to classes Rainy River Community College in International Falls. Each year we provide transportation to thousands of residents in the seven counties of Northeastern Minnesota: Aitkin County, Carlton County, Cook County, Itasca County, Koochiching County, Lake County and St Louis County.
Our drivers complete a comprehensive training program that includes Defensive Driving to Customer Service. Our drivers must maintain their commercial driver’s license which means safe driving both on and off the job!
Arrowhead Transit is operated by Arrowhead Economic Opportunity Agency.
