Job Responsibilities: As a Dispatcher in our Transit Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of customer service duties. Your primary tasks will include answering phones, entering information into the computer system, dispatching drivers on their assigned routes, and receiving and communicating information via two-way radio and computer dispatch systems. Additionally, you will be expected to handle other technical and administrative functions as needed.
Job Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. The ability to multitask effectively is crucial. You should also have strong computer skills and be competent in using various software products. A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with a passenger endorsement is required for this position (must obtain within 30 days of employment). Scheduling and route preparation abilities are highly desirable. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule and maintain routes on a daily basis
- Maintain accident reports, daily paperwork, and route logs
- Communicate route and schedule information to the general public
- Drive vehicles as necessary
Additional Information: We are currently seeking one full-time Dispatcher for our location in Virginia, MN. This is a 40-hour-per-week position. The starting wage is $20.06 per hour.
