TRANSPORTATION MANAGER – MAINTENANCE

Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for daily operations of all Transit maintenance programs.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and/or commensurate education, certifications, and experience. Must possess or be able to obtain a commercial driver’s license with passenger endorsements. Must possess minimum of 2 years maintenance experience with proven mechanical ability in all aspects of large vehicle repair. Computer literate.Needed Attributes:  Ability to diagnose mechanical/electrical problems. Ability to prioritize tasks and schedule resources efficiently. A concern for quality work.

Essential Functions:

Manages vehicle preventive maintenance program including identification of buses requiring service, coordinating bus swaps from service areas, and communication with area managers, dispatchers, and coordinators.Performs inventory management and audits at all maintenance locations in compliance with overall inventory management plan and fiscal department guidelines.Supervises and evaluates all direct report employees.Manages all maintenance operational purchasing needs including maintenance shops and facility maintenance in accordance with defined purchasing and procurement procedures.Manage and report on all vehicle and facility maintenance records in compliance with state and federal regulations and MNDOT Transit Asset Management Plan.Manage all third-party contractor maintenance, repair, and support work authorizations for vehicle and facility maintenance.Works with Assistant Director of Maintenance in ensuring facility maintenance plan compliance in all Transit facilities.Manages quality assurance practices on all completed vehicle and facility repairs.
