Today, Arrowhead Transit Director Brandon Nurmi and Communications Manager Dominick Olivanti met with the Lake County Emergency Management team at Aspirus Health Lakeview Hospital. The purpose of the meeting was to educate local leaders from EMS, fire departments, and nursing homes about the potential role public transportation could play in emergency situations.
During the preliminary discussion, we shared how Arrowhead Transit has assisted in similar situations in the past and explored possibilities for how public transit could be integrated into emergency management plans for Lake County moving forward.
This meeting was an opportunity for collaboration and information sharing, and while no formal decisions were made, the conversation was a positive step in exploring future partnerships. Arrowhead Transit looks forward to continuing discussions and supporting Lake County in their efforts to enhance community safety.
