Safety Training for Drivers
As part of our bus driver training curriculum, we cover a wide range of topics essential for safe driving. This includes pre-trip inspections, emergency procedures, passenger assistance, and defensive driving techniques. Additionally, we emphasize diversity, equity, and inclusion in our training program, ensuring that drivers are equipped to serve passengers from diverse backgrounds effectively.
As part of ongoing professional development, drivers and dispatchers undergo regular training sessions on topics such as CPR, first aid, drug and alcohol awareness, and customer service.
Our bus mechanics receive training to ensure that vehicles are maintained to the highest standards of safety and reliability.
Safety Through Technology
Our drivers are provided driver seat barriers and, through the Arrowhead Transit Dispatch Center, all bus operations are monitored using GPS-based technology. The technology provided to our drivers (and customers) keeps our drivers focused on providing a great transit experience. And our increasingly green fleet of both hybrid and electric buses make driving for Arrowhead Transit a customer and future-focused career!
