Honoring Indigenous Peoples Day at Arrowhead Transit
On this Indigenous Peoples Day, we at Arrowhead Transit take a moment to honor and celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of the Indigenous peoples of our region. We deeply appreciate our sovereign tribal nation partners in our service area: the Bois Forte Band of Chippewa, the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa, and the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa.
These communities play a vital role in the fabric of our region, and we recognize the importance of their heritage and the contributions they make to our shared history. We are proud to collaborate with these nations in providing transit services that enhance connectivity and promote cultural awareness.
Additionally, we extend our gratitude to our Tribal Transit Partners:
- Big Woods Transit (Bois Forte)
- Fond du Lac Transit (Fond-Du-Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa)
These partnerships allow us to serve our communities better, ensuring that everyone has access to the essential transportation they need while also respecting and honoring the traditions and values of the Indigenous peoples we work alongside.
As we celebrate this day, we encourage our community members to take the time to learn about and appreciate the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous peoples. Together, we can foster a deeper understanding and respect for the rich heritage that shapes our region.
Thank you for joining us in honoring Indigenous Peoples Day!
