Behind the Scenes: Arrowhead Transit’s Super Bowl Commercial Shoot
The Story
After moving the shoot date from mid-July to late September, the Arrowhead Transit team felt more than prepared to film our first-ever Super Bowl commercial. The excitement was palpable, and to make it even more special, we shot the commercial right here at our headquarters on the Mesabi Iron Range in Gilbert, Minnesota. It was a week packed with content creation, as we filmed not only the Super Bowl spot but also several other commercials for future campaigns. You can check those out on our YouTube channel!
The big day arrived, and at 9 a.m., 20 local actors gathered, ready to bring their best performances to the set. For the next four hours, the team worked hard, delivering lines, reactions, and comedic moments that would soon make up our unique, fun-filled commercial. Although the day was unusually hot, we kept the set cool with fans in every corner, but even with that, the lights still brought the heat.
Despite the sweltering conditions, we managed to shoot both commercials in the planned timeframe, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how they turned out. The quirky, random humor really shines through, and we’re proud to show a fun and lighthearted side of public transit – an aspect that not everyone gets to see.
We are thrilled to be advertising during the Super Bowl, one of the most-watched events of 2025. Having a wacky, memorable ad during this huge event gives us a great opportunity to increase our visibility and drive web traffic from people who may not have heard of us otherwise. While the commercial airs regionally, we love seeing our customers, staff, and community members share it and spread the message. It’s incredible to see how the story of Arrowhead Transit resonates in the communities we serve and how our buses operate right in their own backyard.
