The life of a bus driver can be rewarding.
“You get to know the riders really well, and they become your friends,” said Jackie Bymark.
The Arrowhead Transit bus driver provides transportation to individuals who use the Grand Rapids Dial-A-Ride service. She’s been in this role for more than two years.
Transit Manager Sandy Wheelecor nominated Bymark for Driver of the Month for June.
“Jackie is a hard worker, and is willing to help in any way possible,” she said. “She gets along well with her fellow team members. She is pleasant to be around, and truly cares for the people she serves every day.”
Bymark said she’s proud to represent Arrowhead Transit as Driver of the Month.
“It’s a good job,” she said. “I’ve worked with people for my whole life so it’s a great fit.”
When she’s not driving the bus, Bymark enjoys riding her side-by-side and spending time at the beach with her grandkids.
“I just like to relax,” she added.
