A Step Toward Future Transit Access

At Arrowhead Transit, we believe that the best public transportation systems are built hand-in-hand with the communities they serve. That’s why we were grateful for the opportunity to sit down with Taylors Falls City Councilor Carol Schumann and local resident Sandy to talk about the future of transit access in their city.

Currently, Arrowhead Transit does not operate service in Taylors Falls—but that doesn’t mean it’s off the table. In fact, conversations like this are how service expansion begins.

Councilor Schumann and Sandy spoke with us about specific needs in their community: who would benefit from transit, where service could go, and how improved transportation access could support quality of life in this unique river town. In return, we shared how RideSmart 2025—our phased service redesign for Chisago and Isanti counties—is a living, breathing project. It’s shaped by the people we hear from, and it’s designed to grow and evolve alongside our region.

While this meeting didn’t result in immediate service changes, it marked something just as important: the beginning of a relationship. And in rural transit, that’s where progress starts.

If you live in Taylors Falls—or anywhere in our service region—and believe your community would benefit from Arrowhead Transit, we want to hear from you. Visit our Contact Form to share your thoughts. Encourage your neighbors to do the same. Community voices are the strongest signal we have when determining where new service is needed. Advocacy isn’t just welcome—it’s essential.

Let’s build the next chapter of rural transit together.
