Transit Manager – Hermantown, MN

Arrowhead Transit is seeking a dynamic, Community Development/Urban Planning minded individual for our brand-new Transit Manager position based in Hermantown, Minnesota. As the Transit Manager, you will oversee various aspects of our operations, including:

  • Recruiting, selecting, supervising, and evaluating employees
  • Negotiating revenue contracts
  • Monitoring and managing county expense budgets
  • Training new drivers in operating procedures
  • Developing new routes in collaboration with businesses and community leaders
  • Scheduling drivers and vehicles
  • Completing federal and state reports and grant writing
  • Organizing city/county advisory committees
  • Promoting services through public relations/marketing
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state rules and regulations

This position requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with a passion for community engagement and public transit.

Dispatch Team Member

Our dispatch team plays a critical role in keeping the “wheels turning” at Arrowhead Transit. We are looking for individuals who can multitask effectively, possess excellent computer skills, and are competent in using various software products. Key responsibilities include:

  • Scheduling and maintaining routes daily
  • Handling accident reports, daily paperwork, and route logs
  • Communicating route and schedule information to the public
  • Driving vehicles as necessary

Bus Drivers – Part-Time and Full-Time

Arrowhead Transit is the lifeline for over 600,000 passengers annually, and we are looking for dedicated individuals to join our team as part-time and full-time bus drivers. The best part? We provide all MN State required CDL training and conduct on-site testing on a comfortable closed course. Key responsibilities include:

  • Transporting passengers to and from designated locations safely and on time
  • Assisting passengers, including the elderly, handicapped, and economically disadvantaged, as needed
  • Maintaining vehicle cleanliness, fueling, and daily inspections
  • Adhering to federal, state, and local transportation rules and regulations
  • Ensuring a safe and orderly environment on the bus at all times

Job qualifications include being at least 21 years old, passing a physical exam, drug test, and driving test, and the ability to assist passengers with varying needs.
