Connecting Communities
In Northeastern Minnesota, Arrowhead Transit is more than just a transportation service. Our Non-Emergent Medical Rides Program links individuals with vital medical appointments, breaking down barriers to rural Minnesota healthcare.
Today we hosted Paul Peltier, Executive Director at the Range Association of Municipalities and Schools (RAMS). His visit dove deep into our program’s core, highlighting its regional importance and the critical role of volunteers.
Our Volunteer-Based System relies on everyday heroes who commit their time and resources to ensure everyone can reach medical facilities. Volunteer Drivers, armed with a valid license, insurance, and clean record, provide not just rides but companionship and reassurance during medical visits.
Volunteer Opportunities are open to all who wish to make a difference, whether retirees seeking community involvement or individuals passionate about volunteer work. Arrowhead Transit welcomes everyone who shares our vision of a healthier, more connected community.
During Paul’s visit, discussions with Program Supervisor Kristen Deutsch and Assistant Director Colette Hanson underscored the program’s operational intricacies and its vital role in equitable healthcare access.
Our Approved Vehicles range from small cars to SUVs, prioritizing safety, dependability, and cleanliness for passengers’ well-being.
Looking ahead, Arrowhead Transit remains committed to enhancing community health through accessible transportation. With partners like RAMS and dedicated volunteers, we aim to continue positively impacting lives across the Mesabi Iron Range.
In conclusion, our Non-Emergent Medical Rides Program isn’t just about transportation; it’s about caring for our community. Join us in our journey towards a healthier, more connected tomorrow.
